How Athletes Benefit from Rolfing & Yoga

Athletes put both their bodies and their minds to the test on a regular basis. This can be an amazingly rewarding experience, but can also be energetically taxing and injurious if done without a balance of rest and self-care. Rolfing is a holistic bodywork therapy that is similar to a blend of physical therapy, sports massage, and deep tissue massage. I use a combination of movement, posture & gate analysis, and manual therapy to address potential adhesions or limitations within the body. Typically Rolfing is offered in a 10-Session format, however, single sessions can be beneficial as well for specific trouble areas. With the amount of change, growth, and stress that Athletes place on their bodies Rolfing™ sessions can be beneficial on a semi-regular or pre/post race basis.

Some of the primary gains of regular sessions or a 10 series is improved breath, body awareness, and balance.​ It is a process about learning how to be with yourself, grow, adapt, and listen to the real experience behind the mental chatter, allowing you to safely push past those physical and mental limits. In regards to Athletes, hands on Rolfing™ sessions combined with functional movement sessions can help improve:
